Volleyball

The girls finished volleyball with the Varsity team placing 5th at State! Way to go Girls!

Happy Birthday Kjel

We celebrated Kjel's 10th birthday at Fun Expeditions. It is here in Johnson City. We went to the pizza buffet for dinner. Clayton was so excited to get started on the playing he had a hard time eating anything. Which meant he had to sit there and wait for everyone to finish. Then we played laser tag and bumped into each other while we drove the go-karts. Warren, Kjel, and Kjirsten caused a traffic jam so I was able to stop and take a picture. Clayton went on the climbing wall and the boys played a little bit of bowling. Then we had an hour to spend in the arcade. I think that Kjel thought it was the best birthday party ever.

Catapillers took over our dinner table!

One evening as we were getting ready to eat dinner we noticed a Caterpillar at our table. We eat out on our patio every night since it is the only table that we have right now. Kjel said that he thought that it was making a ca coon. We just let it be. The next day we found a cacoon hanging from the table. After looking around we found an identical one hanging on one of the chairs. So for right now the cacoons are taking up one of our places at the table. That usually isn't a problem because Breanne likes to go inside where the bugs won't eat here. I think that the cacoons are really pretty.

Labor Day at Natural Tunnel State Park

The Veech cousins invited us to go to the Natural Tunnel State Park with them on Labor Day. It is in Virginia about 45 minutes from our house. (About 30min for them) As you can tell by the name of the place the tunnel was formed by natural causes and was discovered by early explorers. A railroad track was built through it and is still used today. They have a chairlift that you can ride down to the tunnel (if you are nervous about that you can hike down the mountain. Kjel hiked down but was very brave and rode the chairlift up) We also went on a beautiful hike where we could look down at the tunnel and the mountain range around us. We are blessed with beautiful surroundings. We looked around the gift shop and museum. The kids had to try on the hats and take a picture. We enjoyed a picnic and a swim in the pool that they have there. Thanks Veech's for inviting us and sharing the day with us.

Fishing with Dad

Warren and the boys have gone fishing down on the dock several times. Boone Lake is just a block away from our house. Here is a picture after one of their mornings of fishing.
