Sunday

Spring Gala

The Chamber Choir sang a few numbers at the Spring Gala. They opened with a song called "Show People". Everyone was dressed up as different characters from different shows. Kjirsten was Cindy Lou Who from the Grinch. She had some of her braided and then draped up to the top with all of her top hair standing straight up with bows and ribbons. It was really cute, but I didn't get a picture because I was video taping. Right after I had to leave and pick TaraLyn up from work and when I got back she was already changed into her next outfit. They sang several numbers from "Jersey Boys" and had a lot of great choreography. This is the party afterwards at DQ!!!

Seminary Graduation

Last night Kjirsten graduated from four years of early morning seminary. She attended two years of seminary in Decatur and then two years of Seminary here in Johnson City. This is a picture of her with her seminary teacher Sister Sister Marquis. After graduation they had a youth dance. Here Kjirsten is dancing with a kid that just turned 14 and this was his first dance.

Monday

Nine Years Old

My baby turned 9 on May 4th. I told him that I couldn't believe that he was nine. He commented right back that he couldn't believe that I was thirty nine. Somehow that sounded worse than being nine! He has some good come backs these days.

Here are some pictures from his Space Party.

Friday

Senior Prom

Last weekend was Prom. About a month ago Kjirsten decided that she wanted to go so we started to figure out the dress situation. I found a pattern that looked like what she wanted and it even had sleeves in it. I only had to add two inches to the top all of the way around. Going to the fabric store Kjirsten was sure that she wanted a turquoise dress. She ended up liking the red and had to have black with it. I think that it turned out nice and she really liked it.

Kjirsten found another couple to double with. They all decided not to go to the dance................not the best atmosphere! They had dinner on our front porch with TaraLyn and Will's sister Amy as waitresses. They went on a banana hunt (went to the grocery store and found 15 yellow items, placed them in a shopping cart and then had to put the other couples items away while trying to be the first couple to finish the task) They came back home and danced on the porch, watched a movie and went down to the lake. They had a blast. The next day the news was all about the 50 students who were arrested for drinking after prom. (They were at a party) I was glad that Kjirsten chose to have fun at home!
