Senior Prom

Last weekend was Prom. About a month ago Kjirsten decided that she wanted to go so we started to figure out the dress situation. I found a pattern that looked like what she wanted and it even had sleeves in it. I only had to add two inches to the top all of the way around. Going to the fabric store Kjirsten was sure that she wanted a turquoise dress. She ended up liking the red and had to have black with it. I think that it turned out nice and she really liked it.

Kjirsten found another couple to double with. They all decided not to go to the dance................not the best atmosphere! They had dinner on our front porch with TaraLyn and Will's sister Amy as waitresses. They went on a banana hunt (went to the grocery store and found 15 yellow items, placed them in a shopping cart and then had to put the other couples items away while trying to be the first couple to finish the task) They came back home and danced on the porch, watched a movie and went down to the lake. They had a blast. The next day the news was all about the 50 students who were arrested for drinking after prom. (They were at a party) I was glad that Kjirsten chose to have fun at home!

It looked like they had a great time. I'm still in shock that Kjirsten is graduating in less then a month. This has been a hard year for me realizing just how old I'm getting and Kjirsten is not helping in that department. Her dress is just lovely and she will defiantly be using it at BYU Idaho.

Wow, the dress is BEAUTIFUL, Kristen!! Lucky girls you have, that's for sure. And how fun that they just wanted to "do prom" at home. (Not fun that that's what the world is coming to, but fun that your home offers the sort of atmosphere she and her friends want! I love it.)

Has anyone told you lately how AMAZING you are! Well, if not let me just tell you that you ARE. The dress is gorgeous, your children are awesome, Kjirsten is such a good example of a daughter of God.
