I decided to finish painting the dining room and get the curtains made for the windows. I bought the fabric for this room before we even closed on the house a year ago. Kim brought me the curtain hangers from Utah when she came in August. It was definitely time to get the walls painted so that I could hang the curtains.

Washington D.C.
Warren, Kjirsten, and TaraLyn went to Washington D.C. for a Choir and Orchestra Trip. Warren went as a chaperon with the choir. They had three buses full of kids and were in Washington D.C. for the inauguration.

Curtains, curtains, curtains
We were having a hard time finding fabric that we liked for Breanne and TaraLyn's room, and we ran across a fabric shower curtain at Target that would work. Of course it wasn't long enough so I added some fabric on the bottom and made ties to go at the top through the shower curtain holes. I thought that it turned out pretty cute.
Hancock fabric was having 50% off of decorator fabric on Martin Luther King day. I found this fabric and called home to have Breanne measure the window for me. I lined it with some great lining material that I found several months ago. They do a great job keeping the light out.

Happy New Year
I can't believe that it is the year 2009. WoW!!!! Just a month ago I almost wrote 2005 on one of my checks. Where has the time gone. Unlike Marta and some other people I haven't had time to sit and reflect on what my new years resolutions are going to be. I have been busy getting all of the new things together for Primary. Everything starts tomorrow......new teachers, new classes, new Article of Faith incentives, new good deed detective, new chorister (Kjirsten), new president (okay, maybe not!) Maybe when the kids go back to school I will figure out what I would like to accomplish this year.
I hope that you all have the best year ever!

Ninety Mile Hike
While on our family vacation this Christmas we went on a hike up the Ninety Mile Hike area. Now some of you will be impressed by the name, others of you know me well enough that if we were going to hike for ninety miles, I would not be going. The trail that we were on is called the Ninety Mile and we only hiked for about a mile to the falls. Here are some pictures of our lovely hike in the Smoky Mountains.
