Washington D.C.

Warren, Kjirsten, and TaraLyn went to Washington D.C. for a Choir and Orchestra Trip. Warren went as a chaperon with the choir. They had three buses full of kids and were in Washington D.C. for the inauguration.

Warren and Kjirsten won a drawing and got silver tickets for the inauguration. That meant that they got to stand in line for many hours and barely make it into the silver area behind the reflecting pool. They had trees in front of them, so they really didn't get a very good view at all. Kjirsten took pictures while she was on Warren's shoulders.

Here is a picture of the choir getting ready to perform. They sang three Hebrew Love Songs that were in Hebrew. They had some members of the orchestra accompany them. Kjirsten is on the right bottom row. I do not have a picture of TaraLyn because Warren was chaperoning the choir and was in a different location than the orchestra.

TaraLyn and Kjirsten with the choir director and trophy. They were having a dance and the lights were all funky.

Here is a picture of the trophy that SHHS won. It was the overall winning award that went to the school who scored the highest in all of their performances. Kjirsten is on the right with sleeves :}

The orchestra placed 2nd in the gold level and the choir placed 1st in the silver level. The women's choir also placed and the bass player in the orchestra received several awards. They all did a great job.

While in Washington D.C. they went to several of the Smithsonian buildings and Museums. They didn't get to see as much as they would have liked, because the roads were blocked for the inauguration.

This is the dress that Laura Bush wore to the inaugural ball.

Kjirsten found some kids that would play soccer with her on the ice. They were waiting for everyone to find the bus after the inauguration. She decided to have some fun with the local kids.

The girls had a great time. Warren is ready to go back and see more things. Maybe this summer.

What a neat experience. And they won some great awards too -- wow! It's funny I saw Kjirsten's sleeves before I noticed it was her, and then I naturally assumed it would be her, and then I saw it was her, and then I read your comment. Good job, Kjirsten. =) How fun that Warren could go with them, too.
