Bread

About 18 years ago, Warren bought me a mixer that was perfect for making bread. I tried it, it didn't turn out. A few years later he bought me a bread maker. All I had to do was put the ingredients in and turn it on, and poof, perfect bread. Wrong, it never worked right either. We still use the mixer to this day, for cookies. The bread maker got sold at a garage sale about four or five moves ago. While we were in Wenatchee I went to an enrichment meeting where Sister Simpson (the ultimate wonderful bread maker) taught us how to make bread. I tried it, it didn't taste like Sister Simpson's. I have been telling myself for many years,"Kristen, it is okay if you are not the perfect mormon mother that makes bread. You can be good at other things, you don't have to be good at everything. Other people can be talented at making bread." I don't like to feel like a failure, so I don't make bread.

My sister Kim recently had an enrichment on making bread. She told me about it. She sent me the recipe. Which you can view on her blogspot in my link section (KimMarie Larsen) To make this bread it takes about 1 hr from start to finish. Amazing! It has some interesting ingredients that I had never heard of. So I decided to try it. I found out that maybe I can be the perfect mormon mother with amazing bread skills! All I needed was the right ingredients. I tried it, it was good. The missionaries tried it, they wanted the recipe. My family liked it. We ate all four loaves in one day. What can I say...........................you will have to try it!

HOORAY! Your bread looks fabulous and by the sounds of it the taste was as well. I am so glad that you can be the perfect mormon wife...once again you have raised the bar for keeping up with the Jones's. :)

I am glad that it worked out. I am so proud of you!

That bread looks so yummy. I still have yet made it to the store to buy the secret ingredient. I think this is a recipe I will be sharing with my friend Amy the one who post recipes.

Also ditto to Kim's comment on keeping up with the Jones it's so hard to do already so what do you do you add one more thing to your list.

I haven't tried it yet, but I plan to make it this week. I am excited! I have a great whole wheat rolls recipe if you are interested, but as of yet I have very much so disliked my bread loaves. lol Maybe this will be it for me, too!! :)

yeah-- keeping up with the Jones's!! I tired making it too. Only I used whole wheat bread flour. Well, lets just say, it didn't raise as readily!! We still have 3.5 loaves left, and I made it two days ago. I will have to try it with white bread flour next time! :)
