Kjirsten's Room

Before
This is what Kjirsten's room looked like when we moved into the house. Thanks to many helpers - Aunt Amber, Aunt Amy, Mommy and Will Burton - Kjirsten has a room that is close to completion.
This is a picture of Will taping the walls for the stripes. The walls were first painted the light color. Then we applied two coats of the darker color which has sand and glitter for texture and sparkle. Then we painted a silver glaze over the light color. All of which took us months to complete.
After

Warren cut out a table top to put in the little nook. Kjirsten painted the table, mirror, table legs, and chair legs. I bought the chair covers at IKEA when I was in Utah a few weeks ago. The mirror I found at a yard sale for $20.00. It was gold - now it is black with the silver glaze over the top. I found the black dust ruffle at another yard sale for $2.00.

Here is a close up of the chairs.
Kjirsten really likes how her room turned out. I am happy that the stripes turned out. I was a little worried after the first coat, but it worked out. Now on to the next room.

Good Job! You can really see the shine in some of the photos. It is a vastly different room from the before picture. I love the chairs in there...that corner looks really great! It looks like Kjirsten.

Definitely a Kjirsten Room. You sure did a terrific job pulling it all together -- so, so fun! Seriously, can't you send the pics into a magazine or the Home and Garden channel to win some $$ or something?? Very impressive.
