Finished Projects

My goal for January 2010 was to finish some projects that I started last year or maybe even before last year and hadn't finished them. The first one that I finished was my upstairs hallway. I painted the stairway the light green last Jan. or Feb. and started the hallway but ran out of paint. I never bought anymore paint and so it was unfinished for a year!!!!!!!!! Kjirsten helped me finish it. Here are two pictures. The one wall is a darker green and the stairway and hallways are a lighter green.

Last fall I painted the light fixtures but never posted a picture. They were brass and I like them much better now. I plan on doing the same thing to the light fixtures in my kitchen. That is a project that I didn't get to this month. Of course I haven't started that one, so it isn't necessarily unfinished.
Last Jan or Feb I started working on my second rug. I did stop for a month or so and make a different rug, but the rest of the year I have been working on this rug for my kitchen. It is identical to my first rug that is also in my kitchen in front of my refrigerator and freezer. I finished this one last night. It will go in front of my kitchen sink, but I took a picture of it in front of my new island.

My computer room has been driving me crazy forever. It was so white and cold! I love the new warm color. Kjirsten was so happy that I didn't paint it blue or green. I really tried to step out of my comfort zone and paint a color that wasn't necessarily me. I really like it. Of course it looks either darker or lighter depending on the time of day.
Well, that is it. Maybe I will get more done next month. Or start some projects that I can finish next year :}

I love all the improvements you've done! Way to go!

BTW, what was the color that you used on your light fixtures? I love the idea of just repainting them :)

You MADE that rug??? Why have I never seen your rugs before? I am in awe. Of course, you never cease to amaze me, Kristen! If I could get one-sixteenth of the things done that you do in a month, I would feel pretty accomplished. You know that if/WHEN we ever buy a house, I am hiring you to help with the decorating! Can't wait to see your home in person soon -- quite different than the last time I saw it!
